Laura Merucci, Paralegal

Laura attended Wayne State University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Asian Studies. She then obtained her Paralegal Certification from Oakland Community College, where her 4.0 average earned her the distinction of Summa Cum Laude. After interning at Gudeman and Associates, she officially joined the team in January of 2013.

Outside of work, Laura is married with one son. She is a very avid reader who has been known to complete over 100 books in one year. To date, her personal record, which she is always trying to break, stands at 335.

Samantha G. Miller, Paralegal

Samantha is the newest member of the firm; she began working at Gudeman and Associates in January 2023. Her experience however doesn’t start there. Samantha first started working at a bankruptcy law firm in 2007, at just 19 years old, while attending college. She now has 18 years of experience specializing in Chapter 7s and Chapter 13s.

Samantha is married with three daughters who keep her busy outside of work between travel softball, gymnastics, and cheerleading. Her greatest joy is watching her kids grow into who they are meant to be. Samantha and her family recently moved to the “country”, where they are planning to raise chickens, goats, and hopefully a horse, which has been a lifelong dream for her family.

Jessica L. Englund, Administrative Assistant

Since being hired as Administrative Assistant for Gudeman & Associates in January 2022, Jessica has provided essential support to the firm’s legal team and has ensured smooth day-to-day operations. Jessica’s eye for detail and organizational skills plays a crucial role in managing client communications, scheduling appointments, maintaining case files, and handling office logistics. Jessica also conducts the billing matters for the firm and assists Mr. Gudeman with marketing.

Outside of work, Jessica is usually kept busy with her son. On the weekends, she enjoys spending quality time with family and exploring new and upcoming places around Metro-Detroit.
